Course Objectives: This course will survey the major areas studied by psychologists -. Biological Bases of Behavior, Motivation, Learning, Cognition, Sensation and Perception, Memory, Language, Social Behavior, Development, Intelligence, and Personality. It will include historic and recent approaches to the field. It also will examine fundamental methods of scientific research.
Papers: You are responsible for completing four short papers. You must submit these by the end of April in order to get full credit. Each paper will be worth 10% of your grade. Together the papers can contribute to 40% of your final grade.
Presentation: Groups will select one problem, will present their findings in fifteen minutes to the class, on the last day of class. (10% of your grade)
Quizzes: There will be five quizzes. (50% of your grade)
Extra Credit: Extra credit may be earned during every class period, and is strongly encouraged.
Grades: A = 95%, A- = 90%, B+ = 87%, B = 85%, B- 0 80%, etc.
