Time: Mon. Evening 6.20-9.45 pm.

Textbooks: Goldstein, E. B. (1999). Sensation & Perception, 5th ed. CA: Brooks/Cole Publishing Co., ITP.

Course Objectives: This course will cover: the methods used by perceptual scientists for exploring how the brain and nervous system process environmental information; present concepts about how the brain and sense organs connect; and critical experiments that have led us to our current conclusions.

Research Proposals: You are responsible for completing two research proposals. You must submit these by the end of the semester in order to get full credit. Each report will be worth 25% of your grade.

Outside readings: You will select one topic for a ten-fifteen minute class presentation or paper. (10% of your grade)

Quizzes: There will be four in-class quizzes. (40% of your grade)

Extra Credit: Extra credit may be earned during every class period, and is strongly encouraged.

Grades: A = 95%, A- = 90%, B+ = 87%, B = 85%, B- 0 80%, etc.
