Research

I have researched metamemory, e.g., 'why is it that when we can't remember something, we often feel that we could remember it in the future?' (ECSC '00,' CNS '99, 01) I also research how graphic characteristics of fonts, such as size, spacing, and complexity affect reading. ( ECVP '98, '00, '01, ARVO '99, '00). I've worked as an ad hoc reviewer Psi Chi Journal, ECVP, Volunteer editor IOVS. Students who have participated in past research projects with me have presented their work at professional meetings. One received a MUSE award. I am now looking at how memory and visual characteristics of reading interact.
